Children's Art Classes

At Do ART! Studios and Studio 4 Art our mission is to advocate for creativity and provide a platform for individuals to explore their artistic potential. Founded by Kebby, our aim is to foster a healthy, vibrant, and meaningful connection to learning, community, and compassion through the power of art. We believe that teaching the creative process is essential in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ultimately leading to personal growth in leadership, self-awareness, and self-confidence.

Our weekly classes at Do ART! and Studio 4 Art are committed to delivering an exceptional art educational experience. We utilize robust, award-winning curriculum that is written and designed by our team of teachers in art instruction and exploration, ensuring that our students have access to the highest quality materials and tools. By creating a nurturing environment that encourages artistic expression, we strive to inspire creativity, ignite imaginations, and empower individuals to embrace their unique artistic journey. Our weekly classes build community through creativity!

Our classes are about technique and skill building, even to our youngest artists, while incorporating a child-led philosophy, each of our artists will create work that is unique unto themselves, we LOVE diversity! Our classes follow the school year calendar, offering camps when school is out.  The goal is the learning that happens, the brainstorming, the overcoming the feeling of failing, and what creativity looks and feels like, but we don’t get caught up in what the end product “should” look like. The creative process is everything!

Students, toddler through 10th grade, can register for an entire semester or on a month-to-month basis.

FAQs

What are students going to focus on?
We focus on a different medium each month for most of our classes.  From chalk pastels and charcoal, ink, paint, and clay.  Our focus on our ALL art and mixed media classes will incorporate printmaking, fibers arts, and sculpture!  Our mission is to introduce many different art mediums while studying contemporary artists to create a new and fun way of making! If in fashion or ceramics we have monthly themed projects to coordinate with the seasons.

Can we TRY a class?
Due to our knowledge on how a child learns and the time involved to feel comfortable and confident in their abilities, we do not offer a trial class. Just attending one time will fall short of learning the biggest accomplishment of all, art is a process and the end results are the BEST feeling ever! The classes listed above are a monthly commitment.  Each class builds on the next.  If you're looking for a one-time class, we recommend one of our Art Camps or our “pop up” options.

Do you offer Make-up’s?
Thursday nights are dedicated to studio time for our students who need to get caught up or who need some extra time on a project.

Make-up Policy Link

If we enroll for the semester and our schedules change, can we switch classes?
As long as we have room in a class, we can switch meeting times and even studio locations between Novato and San Rafael.  (For example, if your enrolled in the Monday K/1st class at 6pm and you find out that October soccer practice is going to be on Mondays, we can switch you to the Tuesday class as long there is room in that class)

Make up:

We understand busy schedules and that things may come up.  Our weekly classes do offer a make up opportunity, depending on the class. Our one-time “pop up” classes do not offer make-up opportunities.  Read below for the make-up policies for each of our classes.

WEEKLY PRESCHOOL CLASSES (FUNdamentals and Lil' Artists)
