Fun, Creative Chaos in Studio 4 Art's offsite art classes in after school programs
This is what creative chaos looks like!! This summer we had 2-4 camps running every week. When I opened Studio 4 Art, part of my business plan was to reach, inspire, and influence as many children through art education as we could in our community. As part of this plan, Studio 4 Art teaches over 20 different classes in more than 15 schools and at local community centers. Last week besides our own in studio art classes, we also started taking registration for Loma Verde Elementary School, San Ramon Elementary School, Lu Sutton Elementary School, Marinwood Community Center, St. Hilary's, Strawberry Point School, Edna Maguire School, Park Elementary, Marin Primary and Middle School, Old Mill School, Cascade Canyon School. Many of these schools we offer both grades k and 1-5 class.
In our after school art programs I write all of the curriculum and have been teaching in schools for over 17 years (that is a lot of projects!). It makes me sound old, or experienced, depending on the day. :) I love researching and finding new ideas, tweaking old ideas, and combining different projects for a more contemporary up to date approach. Keeping up with actual teaching in the classroom is pretty important to this process too. Our biggest goal at Studio 4 Art is to connect with our students, create a safe environment where students are able to better express themselves through the art process, and gain technical art skills to give them confidence in creating. We strive to be educational, unique in how we teach, and have experiences for our students that incorporate the creative process, critical thinking skills, and the space to explore for students to have ownership of their learning. And the MOST important part of what stands us a part....our students art work are as individual as they are. NO One's looks like their neighbors, offering diversity, compassion, and the celebration of being YOU!
P.S. if you are an artist or an early childhood educator and would enjoy joining our team, go to hiring and check out what we are looking for.
P.S.S. If Studio 4 Art is not currently in your school, please contact Kebby. We offer clay + ceramics, fashion design, sewing, drawing + painting, mixed media, art + history, art + science, all art,
