Photography Kit
Photography Kit
Cost of photography art kit includes all supplies needed and shipped to your home (this kit does require a phone with a camera or a digital camera), 17-page step-by-step booklet of every project, accompanying how-to video with hints and tips taught by one of our experienced art teachers, and a private Facebook page to share your projects with other campers!
This camp curriculum was written by a professional artist and art teacher and is suggested for ages 9-16. This art kit would be perfect for those middle school and high school kids that have a great interest in photography but have not had the chance to take a course in school. It is in-depth and thorough! It is designed for each project taking approximately 1 hour, although it may be longer depending on the interest of your child.
Your child will gain knowledge to become a professional themselves. In this art kit your child will explore photo image-making while learning how those photographs can be printed into artworks. They will learn how light, perspective, and composition work together to compose a photograph and become a work of art. Pictures will be edited in Adobe Photoshop or Gimp (free software similar to photoshop), and then manipulated through alternative printmaking processes to create cyanotypes and photo-transfers. We also share how-tos for a phone camera or digital camera.
Projects include:
• A photo scavenger hunt
• Introduction to Photoshop or Gimp digital editing
• Creating digital negatives for contact printing cyanotype positive on cotton watercolor paper
• 2-5 days of picture taking with 5 photo prompt assignments
• Learn to use manual settings on SLR/ DSLR cameras (and apps that mimic settings for smart phones)
• Creating your own cyanotype papers and print using the sun
• Create a photo transfer onto wood
• Night photography and portraiture basics
