Our Philosophy Art Education begins with a foundation that encompasses exploration, experimentation, awareness of senses and art discussion. The result of engaging each individual, nurtures confident, perceptive, compassionate and critical thinkers. The Workshop Studio Provided with an art curriculum based on self awareness and experimentation, students realize that a sequence of choices or events can lead to unique solutions. The scientific method, math problem solving, the writing process and completing an art assignment; all follow the same pattern. Verbal fluency and the incorporation of art vocabulary enhance discussions about artwork. The disclipline of art produces specific skills and knowledge with an emphasis on the value of reflection, critique, practice and revision as activities that lead to greater control over technique and media. Visual arts education inspires students to perceive and shape the visual, spatial, and aesthetic characteristics of the world around them. Using a variety of ways to explore, learn and communicate, students develop their capacity for imaginative and reflective thinking. |
